Osteopaths

Gavin Burt, registered osteopath    –    Clinic Director

Gavin graduated from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine, London with a 1st class honours degree in Osteopathic medicine in 1998.

He ran a large osteopathic practice in Auckland, New Zealand, for 3 years before returning to the UK in 2001, working in Kentish Town. In February 2006 he opened Backs and Beyond, in the leafy suburb of Dartmouth Park in North London.

Gavin is a general practice osteopath, but also has special interests in treating sports and dancing injuries, headaches, acute low back pain. He also introduced Neurolink to the UK (see ‘treatments’).

Gavin is obsessed with marathon running, so make sure you don’t get him onto the subject (especially if you are not a runner!), and has treated amateur and elite runners alike, including Paula Radcliffe.

He taught at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine from 2001 to 2003, and was a member of the General Osteopathic Council communications committee.

He is a regular advisor on health issues to the national press and radio. Gavin also writes regular articles on osteopathy and musculoskeletal health for specialist health magazines.

Miranda Clayton, registered osteopath 

Miranda Clayton is a Registered Osteopath (GOsC) with 15 years of clinical experience. For the last 10 years she has had a special interest in the Osteopathic treatment for babies, children and in pregnancy, and she heads up our Mother and Baby Clinic.

Miranda ran the Paediatric Clinic at the London School of Osteopathy for many years, and currently lectures extensively in Pediatric, Obstetric, Geriatric, General and Cranial Osteopathy on a number of B.Sc. Osteopathy courses. She also works as a University Examiner in many aspects of Osteopathy and Medical Sciences.

Jamie Dearing, registered osteopath

Following a successful career in the finance industry, Jamie began his training as an Osteopath in 2002 and is now a prize winning graduate of the London School of Osteopathy.

Jamie has a warm and open manner. He is a structural Osteopath, also with an interest in helping sufferers with symptoms of IBS and Chronic Fatigue using an osteopathic approach.

A native of New Zealand, Jamie has been living and working in the UK since 2000. He lives in Oxford with his wife and two children.

Charles Goillandeau, registered osteopath

Charles graduated with honours from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) in 2009.  As well as being a skillful new practitioner, he is an expert and teacher in Capoeira (a brazilian martial art)
